NCSA 30TH ANNIVERSARY
CELEBRATION RECEPTION

 
When: September 16, 2016, 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Where: NCSA Building, 1205 W. Clark, Urbana, IL
 

Join us at the NCSA 30th Anniversary Celebration as we power up for our next 30 years of shaping the future of scientific research, education, and innovation. The community celebration will include a special presentation featuring NCSA founding Director Larry Smarr, current NCSA Director Ed Seidel and other distinguished guests. Light hors d’oeuvres and beverages will be served.

The creation of the National Center for Supercomputing Applications (NCSA) at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign as a national hub for digital inquiry and exploration represented a revolution in the culture of innovation, research, and education. The University of Illinois community, NCSA partners and alumni are invited to join us in this celebration.

NCSA's 30th Anniversary Celebration is a part of U of I College of Engineering “Impact Day” and Champaign-Urbana’s Pygmalion Festival.

 

For more information on NCSA's involvement with the Pygmalion Festival, please read here. There, you'll find a full slate of family-friendly events, including free tours and demos, as well as multiple screenings of the film Solar Superstorms, produced in part by the NCSA Advanced Visualization Laboratory (AVL), at Staerkel Planetarium (2400 W.
