National Alliance on Mental Illness - Chicago

The CEC team has been collaboating with the National Alliance of Mental Illness in response to mental health ramifications and heightened social service needs due to the COVID-19 pandemic. We have analyzed data trends from NAMI-Chicago’s helpline between November 1, 2018 to April 30, 2020 and identified the number of unique callers, caller needs, and rates of calls. We examined how the phases of the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as social and political issues, impacted call volumes and caller needs. The CEC continues to identify these and other metrics for NAMI’s weekly and monthly call data dashboards and have also assisted in producing a quarterly report on the NAMI website.
