Spring 2017! Do you have a project in mind but aren’t sure how to make it work? Are you looking for a way spice up an old course? Is there a technology that you’d like to learn more about or possibly use in your course? The LCLC is here to help! We have tech tools for every kind of project and can help you find the best way to integrate them effectively and meaningfully into your teaching. Email us at lclc@uic.edu with all your questions!

Weekly Workshop: Video and Audio in Blackboard. Do you use video and audio in your course? If so, this workshop is for you! We'll show you three tools for adding media to your course content, quizzes, blogs, and other assignments. First, we'll highlight Sharestream and demonstrate the new, easier way to upload videos. We'll also show you how to use Sharestream to collect student-created media assignments. In addition to Sharestream, we'll demonstrate how you can use two other web-based tools - Box and Soundcloud - to add short video and audio clips that load faster than Sharestream. Bring your syllabus and your questions!

Can't make the scheduled workshop times below? Email us to set up a meeting at the LCLC or in your office: lclc@uic.edu.

A teaching with technology tip of the week:

FlipQuiz (https://flipquiz.me/) is a sleek, fast way to make Jeopardy! style review games for in class use. You simply add your categories, type or copy your questions and answers into the form, and add links to any images you'd like to include, and your game is instantly created. All you have to do is pull it up in class and play.

You have to keep score manually with the free version, but everything else is automatically done for you. You can also customize your background and color-scheme to keep things entertaining.

As an added bonus, you can embed your game into Blackboard and other websites, and also share it with students as a "review sheet" that shows them the questions and answers in an easy-to-read and -study format.
