Dear Faculty, Lecturers and TAs,

The LCLC is open during Finals Week! We will be here 9-5 Monday-Thursday and 9-2 on Friday.

We will be closed after this week and re-open on Wednesday, January 10th at 9am.

We look forward to working with you on your Spring 2018 classes!


There are no conversation or film events this week. If you are a conversation hour or film series organizer and have not yet sent the LCLC your preferred times for next semester, please do so as soon as possible!


Grad students and lecturers: LCSL 505 is open for registration for Spring 2018! Love teaching? Thinking about looking for a job? LSCL 505 is a one-credit course designed to help you integrate technology into current or future classes and begin to create an online teaching portfolio.  This Teaching Professional Development Workshop is co-taught by the Language and Culture Learning Center Director, Dr. Elizabeth Weber, and the LCLC Postdoc, Dr. Abigail Stahl.


Planning Spring 2018 classes? Are you teaching something new and not sure quite how to approach the content? Or maybe you're teaching an old favorite but looking to spice it up with a new activity or project? The LCLC is here to help you with all of your teaching needs! While technology is our specialty, we're also experienced teachers who are always happy to work with your on developing the best language and culture courses possible for your students. Email us at lclc@uic.edu to make an appointment to discuss your Spring courses! The LCLC will be closed after this week, so now's the time!

 Les pépites / Little Gems [FILM] - Wednesday, December 13, 6:30 PM

"Les Pépites is one of those documentaries, and there are not so many, giving us faith in humanity." – Telerama.
Born in 1975 in Phnom-Penh, Kai-Duc Luong fled the oppressive Khmer Rouge regime from Cambodia to Vietnam to France, where his family settled in Paris, in 1978. An award-wining video artist and photographer exhibited around the world, he shares his time between Chicago and Paris. In French with English subtitles.
