New generation of batteries could better power aerial drones, underwater robots

 

JCESR’s Brett Helms, Linda Nazar, and George Crabtree(UIC Energy Initiative) were recently quoted in Science. The article discusses how many see lithium-sulfur as the heir apparent to lithium-ion as the dominant battery technology, and are encouraged by recent reports suggesting that many of the technology’s performance and durability challenges can be overcome.
