Events, Peer Tutoring, Workshops, and more at LCLC!
Dear Faculty, Lecturers and TAs,
Happy Thanksgiving to all!
LCLC is open through the end of finals week, and we're looking forward to collaborating with you on getting your materials ready for Spring 2021!
How about conducting an end-of-semester survey with your current students, asking them what went well and what they'd suggest changing?
Interactive activities that encourage students to connect with each other about the class material online?
Setting up Grade Center?
Creating a course website?
LCLC is happy to work with you on these projects, and whatever else you need for Spring 2021: we are open M-Th 9-6 and Fri 8-5 (except Thanksgiving and the Friday after Thanksgiving). Email us at email@example.com or join us at our Virtual Helpdesk.
Be sure to let your students know about LCLC Peer Tutoring in French, Spanish, German, and Italian! As the semester reaches its end, students can visit peer tutors for essay ideas, exam prep, speaking practice, and more! Not to mention the Peer Tutor Blog with recipes, cultural info, and more!
Laurie Introduces the French Speaking Countries of the World - "French is the second most spoken language in the world after English. If you count the flags on the picture above, you will see that French is spoken in 29 countries. It’s the only official language for 13 of these countries, and is the co-official language of the 16 remaining ones." Read more.

Music and Language Learning
"Many people have had the experience of learning a world language and singing simple, silly songs in class. The introduction of music provides a light-hearted and fun way to interact with another language and culture."
"A fun listening activity to use with older students is to bring in a recording of a song and give the students a handout with every seventh or tenth word missing. Play the song and see how many blanks the students are able to fill in."
Weekly events for you and your students are ONLINE, listed below and on our calendar: lclc.uic.edu. All events at the LCLC are free and open to students of all levels (and the whole UIC community).
