UIC Law alumnus Antonio Romanucci JD '85

A Fighter for Social Justice: Antonio Romanucci JD ’85

Antonio Romanucci’s JD ’85 has considered himself a fighter for social justice since his days at UIC Law when he worked for the Cook County Defender’s Office and observed the repeated narrative of marginalized people in Chicago being victimized. Today, he and his team are actively supporting litigation for police reform at the state and national levels. In fact, they recently represented the family of George Floyd, achieving a historic settlement for Floyd’s family—a milestone that will likely be seen in history as redefining police conduct. Romanucci’s work demonstrates UIC's commitment to an ethic of public service, democratic responsibility and active participation. Read more.
