Young adults (ages 18 to 26) are in a critical period of brain and behavior development and should be viewed separately from adolescents and older adults in policy and research, according to a new committee report from the Institute of Medicine and National Research Council. Committee member Zizi Papacharissi, UIC professor and head of communication, can comment on the report, which says the contemporary economic and social challenges young adults face can impact a successful transition to adulthood.

“The Things We Carried"
